george d. griffin iii, cpm®, ccim, is the 2020 secretary-treasurer of irem (日本vs西班牙水位分析). he is the vice president of housing operations for the houston housing authority (hha), amo®. griffin has over 25 years of diversified experience in the real estate and mortgage industry. during this period, he has acquired, financed, managed, renovated, repositioned, sold, and/or participated in the development process of more than 100 apartment properties (over 17,000 units) and more than 500 single family homes with an aggregate value of more than $1 billion combined throughout texas, louisiana, georgia and colorado.
griffin is a licensed texas real estate broker, a former licensed louisiana real estate broker, and a former licensed texas mortgage broker. he holds the prestigious cpm designation and the certified commercial investment member (ccim) designation. he also holds the housing credit certified professional (hccp) from the national association of home builders (nahb), the highest designation for professionals in the low-income housing tax credit (lihtc) industry as well as several other designations.
since earning his cpm designation in 2003, he has been active in irem locally and nationally. he previously served as regional vice president for irem's region 7, which includes texas and oklahoma. he also previously served on irem's federal housing advisory board, the irem foundation board and as the 2009 president for irem’s houston chapter. griffin has been the recipient of several irem honors, including the 2007 “rising star” award from irem headquarters, the 2008 “certified property manager of the year” award from the irem houston chapter and the 2012 “jeff williford award of excellence” from the irem houston chapter. during his year as chapter president, irem houston received the 2009 “national silver star award” for national excellence in activities and programs.
in addition to irem, griffin has served as chair of the affordable housing committee for the texas apartment association (taa), as well as a board director for taa and the houston apartment association (haa). in addition, he served as vice president at-large for haa's east region, which includes harris, liberty and chambers counties and on the ccim houston/gulf chapter’s board of directors. he is a realtor and a golden r rpac major investor with the national association of realtors (nar).
griffin earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from texas a&m university as well as a bachelor’s degree in radio/tv/film from sam houston state university.
