irem is returning to washington d.c. to conduct our advocacy impact day (aid) on march 8 & 9, 2022. the fly-in offers our members an opportunity to meet with their federal legislators and advocate for issues critical to the real estate management industry.

build back better goes to senate
the u.s. house of representatives passed president joe biden's signature build back better plan on november 19th by a vote of 220-213.
the roughly $1.75 trillion bill spares real estate investment from the most-feared taxes and includes funding for many programs that are important to irem members.
the bill includes
- $65 billion for public housing
- $25 billion for housing choice vouchers
- $2 billion for rural rental housing
- $700 million for fair housing initiatives

while 2021 presented many of the same challenges that property managers faced in 2020, there were some positives. for example, we saw the federal eviction moratorium come to an end and the acceleration of funds by the emergency rental assistance program. join the irem government affairs team for a dynamic session addressing all the issues you had to deal with in 2021 and a look forward to the opportunities and challenges facing the property management industry in 2022.
