last chance to meet with your federal legislators
while federal legislators are back home during their summer recess from august 5 – september 6, irem members should take the opportunity to schedule meetings to discuss issues important to our industry. protecting the real estate management industry requires work all year-round.
learn more about how to schedule and prepare for a meeting and the issues to discuss by going to irem’s in-district program initiative.
face-to-face meeting with elected representatives, or a key member of their staff, is the best way to teach them about your concerns and, ideally, influence their decisions.
if you have already participated in a meeting, or have one scheduled, please submit the meeting details to iremlegislation@irem.org.

key contact program
a new resource added to our public policy webpage is our key contact initiative. becoming a key contact allows irem members another opportunity to get involved in our advocacy efforts. it also provides irem staff with access to valuable "go-to" contacts who have cultivated relationships with key legislators that may bolster our advocacy efforts. key contacts can play a vital role in helping to educate and engage lawmakers on legislation, regulation, or other actions on capitol hill that impact the property management industry. learn more
