registration for advocacy impact day 2025 now open
registration is open for irem® advocacy impact day, february 25-26, 2025. on the 25th, a full-day orientation will be held at the nar building in d.c. where attendees will learn about significant issues affecting the property management industry while preparing to travel to the hill to speak with legislators the following day.

event highlights include a keynote presentation from nar’s chief economist, lawrence yun, who will provide a comprehensive economic outlook for both commercial and residential properties. read lawrence yun’s full biography.
new co-sponsors added after irem congressional briefing
after irem’s congressional briefing in september, several members of congress signed onto irem supported legislation. this includes senator katie britt becoming a co-sponsor of the respect state housing laws act (h.r.802/s.3755).
senator chrisopher coons, senator catherine cortez-masto, rep. nicole malliotakis, rep. jim costa, rep. nathaniel moran, and delegate eleanor holmes norton added as co-sponsors to the revitalizing downtowns and main streets act (h.r.9002/s.4693).
irem’s advocacy efforts are making an impact in d.c. irem appreciates the congressional support and looks forward to working with these members during the next legislative session.
irem attends nar’s nxt conference in boston
the irem leadership team and staff are attending the national association of realtors® nxt conference in boston, massachusetts. over 15,000 real estate professionals gathered from around the country to experience informational sessions and impactful networking opportunities.
members of the leadership team, libby ekre, cpm®, dawn carpenter, cpm®, and mindy gronbeck, cpm®, ccim, csm, crx, will participate in a panel discussion on the impacts of skyrocketing property insurance costs on residential and commercial properties and on affordable housing providers.
dawn will conduct a second presentation addressing ‘leading the charge in the fight for more affordable housing’ discussing the main differences in vetting tenants for affordable vs. market-rate housing and how to navigate the various local and federal programs for affordable housing.
